A strong organization is built in ordinary moments: members showing up, sharing ideas, welcoming new faces, and making time for the work that matters. The membership meeting on September 23 was one of those moments.

Upcoming Dates

It brought energy, connection, and a clear reminder that member involvement makes everything stronger. Now that the meeting has wrapped up successfully, attention turns to two important upcoming dates:

  • Trunk or Treat on October 9

  • PTA reflections October 23

  • Rally Day on February 22

The September 23 membership meeting set a positive tone

The September 23 membership meeting was a success because members came prepared to connect, listen, and take part. A good membership meeting does more than cover updates. It gives people a reason to feel invested.

The meeting covered topics about upcoming events such as workshops for students and Rally day. We would like more members to participate in the membership meetings and contribute their thoughts and ideas to enrich overall LT student education.

Join us for an exciting and family-friendly event, Trunk or Treat, taking place at Lebanon Trail on October 9th.

Fun way to celebrate Trunk or Treat at Lebanon Trail! Join as families and friends to dress up in their favorite costumes and enjoy a festive atmosphere filled with laughter and joy. In addition to candy collecting, there will be games, activities, and possibly even some spooky surprises along the way. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the fun moments! Here is a video from last year that showcases the fantastic costumes and decorations. We hope to see everyone there for another memorable celebration!

Reflections entries due October 23rd

The PTA Reflections contest is back, and this year's theme is "What My Culture Means to Me." This is your chance to show what makes your background, traditions, and family story special through art. You can enter in dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, or visual arts, so whatever your creative style, there's a category for you. Entries are due Friday, October 23rd, and you can turn them in to Ms. Nodes in room G122. We can't wait to see what you create, so start brainstorming and share your culture with us!

Rally Day on February 22 is an important member opportunity

Looking ahead, Rally Day on February 22 will be a key moment for members. This event is open only to members, which makes it especially important for anyone who wants to be part of education-related conversations.

Rally Day offers a valuable chance to meet education policy makers. These conversations matter because education policy affects classrooms, school communities, families, educators, and students. When members take part, they help bring real experiences and local perspectives into the discussion.

This is not just about attending an event. It is about showing that members care enough to be present.

Because Rally Day is member-only, membership status matters. Members who plan to attend should make sure they are current and watching for details as the date gets closer. Being prepared will help everyone make the most of the opportunity.

A productive Rally Day experience often begins before the event itself. Members can prepare by thinking through the issues they care about most. They do not need to know every detail of education policy to participate well. Clear, honest, respectful communication is often the most effective approach.

Before February 22, members may want to reflect on questions like these:

  • What education issues are most important right now?

  • How do these issues affect local students, families, or educators?

  • What personal experience can help explain the concern?

  • What question would be useful to ask a policy maker?

  • What message should policy makers remember after the conversation ends?

Rally Day is also a chance for members to learn. Meeting education policy makers can help members better understand how decisions are discussed, shaped, and carried forward. Even brief interactions can give useful insight into the policy process.

For anyone who wants to be more connected to education advocacy, Rally Day on February 22 is a date to mark now. More details to follow

Membership matters most when people take part

Membership is more than a name on a list. It becomes meaningful when people attend, ask questions, volunteer, and show up for shared priorities.
