LAST CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE

The University of Oklahoma is conducting a survey regarding the perception of parents of high school age students regarding shop class, vocational/technical training, and careers in construction.  The university is collecting data from schools in four different metropolitan areas (Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlanta). The project uses an internet-based survey for parents that takes about 15 minutes to complete.  If they can get 100 survey responses from Lebanon Trail HS parents, they will contribute $500 to our PTSA. Please take a moment to read, respond and share. Deadline is March 31st. https://ousurvey.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cI5gdbF3UkMzZPw

MARCH IS NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH

March is National Nutrition Month, an annual campaign focused on the importance of making informed food choices and developing healthy eating habits. Maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet can have a significant impact on your overall health and well-being.

First celebrated in March 1973 for only one week, it was created as a way to deliver nutrition education to the public while promoting the profession of dietetics. As the public interest in nutrition began to grow, the celebration was expanded into a month-long observance.

This year's theme is "Beyond the Table," which addresses the farm-to-fork aspect of nutrition, from food production and distribution to navigating grocery stores and farmers markets. It also describes the various ways we eat and includes sustainability.

March is

- National School Breakfast Week

- National Brain Awareness Week

- National Nutrition Month

- Great American Cleanup

National School Breakfast Week is March 4th to 8th 2024.

National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. This special observance during the first week of March celebrates the national School Breakfast Program and the many ways it gives kids a great start every day.

Many studies have shown the health benefits of eating breakfast. It improves your energy levels and ability to concentrate in the short term.

A healthy breakfast refuels the body and replenishes the blood sugar (glucose), giving the energy necessary to start a new day. It is proven that breakfast is good for both physical and mental health. Eating breakfast is important for all ages, especially for children and adolescents.
